Pepco has unveiled its new "Gilded Age" collection, created in collaboration with Ukrainian artist Veronika Blyzniuchenko. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these products will be donated to the "Ukrainian Charity Exhibitions" Foundation, which provides support to individuals needing rehabilitation due to the war in Ukraine. The collection, featuring items such as home decorations, bathroom and kitchen accessories, and textiles, has been available at Pepco since September 7.
Gilded Age is a new collection from the affluent segment, offering limited-edition, high-quality products with exceptional design. It includes home decorations like boxes, trays, and photo frames; kitchen accessories such as mugs, pitchers, and plates; as well as items like lamps, pens, notebooks, and scented candles. All are united by a special design, incorporating floral motifs, and a noble cause, with a portion of the proceeds from sales dedicated to supporting Ukraine.
– Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Pepco has been actively involved in helping victims of the conflict. We have expanded our standard aid efforts, maintaining constant contact with our partners and non-governmental organizations, and supporting our employees from Ukraine. Unfortunately, we see that with each passing day of the war, new human tragedies emerge, and the scale of needed assistance is constantly growing. Hence, this new project – a special collection created by a Ukrainian artist and the noble cause behind it, as part of the proceeds from sales will be allocated to support Ukraine– says Kasia Wilczewska, Head of Corporate Communication Pepco.
The author of the Gilded Age collection is Veronika Blyzniuchenko, a 27-year-old designer specializing in oil painting on canvas and watercolor techniques. She studied at the Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkiv and is a professional painter. Her works are held in private collections in Europe, South America, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates. In 2022, along with other young Ukrainian painters, she participated in a series of exhibitions organized by "Ukrainian Charity Exhibitions".
„Veronika not only creates abstract and narrative paintings but also original silk products, decorative panels, etc. On one hand, the heterogeneity, fragmentation, use of diverse patterns, and bold variations thereof echo Iranian book miniatures, as well as the forms and decorations of both European and Far Eastern ceramics. On the other hand, in some places, the artist's inspiration from the plastic forms and solutions of late 19th and early 20th-century art is noticeable, particularly Art Nouveau, whose important characteristic is the fluid, winding line– assesses Anfisa Doroshenko, culturologist, National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy".
The "Ukrainian Charity Exhibitions" Foundation, to which a portion of the proceeds from the sale of products designed by Veronika Blyzniuchenko will be transferred, brings together Ukrainian artists who provide aid and support to those affected by the war in Ukraine. The Foundation's main objective is to assist in the rehabilitation of individuals injured as a result of military actions. Its activities include: classic art sales through catalogs, organization of physical exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, paid digital exhibitions via an online platform, charity auctions, and the sale of posters and postcards.
